A Circle of Women Writers - an afternoon tea
The event will be hosted and moderated by the Camden County Cultural & Heritage Commission Executive Director, and renowned poet - Ms. Sandra Turner-Barnes.
Our 2010 participating authors include: Pat Cleveland, international modeling icon and author of In the Spirit of Grace; Dr. Jo Anne White, counselor, international author, speaker and certified life, leadership and business coach; Rosemary Burgo, author of Whispers of Truth - Memoir of an Italian Catholic Baby Boomer; Tanya Norwood, creator of two recent books, Queen's Legacy and Fragmented Heart Healers & introducing Alaina Cummings, a 16 year old junior from Timber Creek High School, debuting her first novel - Alice Unknown. This year’s returning Special Guest panelist, Patricia Perry, author of The Haunting of the Owens Family, will speak about her book, as well as talk about her recent experiences as an author. All of our panelists from previous years are invited to return and participate.
The FREE event celebrates local women authors of recent books and promises to be a reading and sharing experience for women writers. This event is made possible by support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as the Camden County Library System and the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Refreshments will be served, and advanced reservations are required by calling 856-858-0040.
As a part of the Cultural & Heritage Commission’s expanded literary program, look for our “Circle of Men Writers” program coming in June.

Attention Camden County Artists and Art Organizations
“Culture has a home in Camden County” and the Camden County Cultural & Heritage Commission is currently updating the County’s Artist and Arts Organization directory. This Arts Directory will be used as a critical resource for cultural practitioners and others wishing to hire talented artists or make contact with arts organizations and will attractively showcase "Camden County’s Finest” to individuals and establishments though out the state of New Jersey and across the country.

| Musical Interludes |

The Camden County Cultural & Heritage Commission is an advocate of access to the arts for all. It participates in the grant programs of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and offers technical assistance workshops and networking opportunities for county arts and cultural organizations. |

The commission's Hopkins House Gallery hosts changing art exhibits in all media. Artwork is purchased from annual juried art exhibits to become part of the Camden County Art Bank, on display in public offices throughout the county. The Commission sponsors a county-wide Arts 4 Teens Festival, which encourages young people talented in all disciplines by creating a forum for sharing ideas and experiences. |

The commission supports the development of local arts
organizations throughout the county and provides Musical
Interludes, a unique
program in which professional musicians visit the homes of seriously ill and
homebound individuals. |

Through its Arts In The Community
Program, the commission co-sponsors performances by professional
performers and offers resource assistance to program planners. |
|
The Commission has developed Access to the Arts, which provides information for the handicapped on access to area institutions and events |
